Working to craft vibrant, safe, and resilient places for all. Living everyday by foot, bike, rail, and transit. #VisionZero #StreetsForPeople
Agreed. I’ve heard from friends that it’s much safer and less stressful to get around neighborhood by car, since they no longer have to wait for ten cars to go by to turn, or push through small gaps to cross intersections.

Traffic calming benefits all street users.

It’s a great candidate for All Way Stops at every intersection.

The pedestrian experience along Pike & Pine on Capitol Hill has been completely transformed with All Way Stops over the last five years.

Cheap, fast, effective.

For example this thread: Denny & Boylston is a known hazard with multiple crashes and injuries.

If SDOT had a Vision Zero Response Team, this intersection could have been fixed the next day, for a very low cost, by simply installing an All Way Stop.

@alexis4seattle.bsky.social can you help?
@seattledot.bsky.social how much longer do we have to tolerate known safety hazards that have fast an inexpensive fixes?

I just walked past a car crash at E Denny Way & Boylston Ave.

This intersection is dangerous for all street users. Please install an All Way Stop here ASAP.

Agreed. Working on some feedback for SDOT. We’ll see how it’s working over the next few days.

Agreed and thanks for this! 🙏

@seattledot.bsky.social the Stop Bar on the east side of E Olive Way & Harvard Ave wasn’t installed yesterday. Can you confirm that it’s still planned?

Also, please daylight the 20’ before it to ensure large vehicles parked on the corner don’t block viability of the “Stop Here for Peds” sign.

A big thank you to the @seattledot.bsky.social Signs and Marks crew who installed the painted curb extensions and crosswalk at E Olive Way & Harvard Ave today!

@seattledot.bsky.social I applaud your concerns about pedestrian confusion.

I’d love to heard your plan to address these driver “confusions”:

1. Failure to yield to peds

2. Blocking crossings (and the intersection)

3. Turning left off Harvard (right only)

4. Crossing Harvard (right only)

@seattledot.bsky.social I’m seeing a constant stream of “confused” drivers at E Olive Way & Harvard Ave.

Twelve drivers failed to stop/yield for a pedestrian trying to cross the street.

With the ped crossing signs covered, drivers continue to have a false sense of right of way here.
