I think it’s fine as long as the autoscale capabilities are observable and you are provided with enough tools to manage your own stuff.
If the autoscale feature is naive or poorly optimized and you can’t control it easily, then that’s an issue.

Is it not sketchy for compute infrastructure to provide autoscaling but then charge you based on your compute usage? The incentives are somewhat misaligned... I'm thinking specifically about Databricks.

Starter packs are the number 1 feature I’ve been most impressed with on Bsky
Starter packs just work. Look at how my follower count took off after being included in some Data starter packs. But here’s the catch: while they’re great for growing an audience, many starter packs have an annoying flaw.
