It's been some work to go from "sex is something private & should only be between two people who care about each other" to "if people wanna bang, let'em bang with anyone they want so long as it's all consensual."

One of my biggest pet peeves in Romance, but media in general, is how much authors‘ internalized Christianity (whether they are practicing, recovering, or just grew up in a culture heavily influenced by it) seeps into their work right down to describing simple sexual desire as “sin.”
