I, too, have had a sandwich thrown at me. Happened when I was nine. My brother launched it across the living room. It had peanut butter in it, so it stuck to my glasses. Never considered it assault, was mostly just really annoyed. Glad the Sandwich Guy won.

When I wish my friends Happy Birthday I just buy a funny card with a cat or Star Wars characters on it and write "Happy Birthday!" and sign my name like a normal person. Never thought to draw naked people and use my signature for pubes. Guess this is why I'll never be President... *sigh*

I don’t think anyone is prepared for what they just did w/ ICE.
This is not a simple budget increase. It is an explosion - making ICE bigger than the FBI, US Bureau of Prisons, DEA,& others combined.

I've cut way back on spending and have spent just $3 so far this month on something that wasn't necessary. And I'm fine. Not lacking anything. Wanting, yes, but not needing. So I'm just here getting by, like always, and making sure I can help my mom if she needs it. And we're both okay. 4/4

I'd spend entire summers just reading and writing and watching shit network tv. The upside to growing up like that is that I can go right back to it without much effort, even if I like all the other things. Wants aren't needs. So while I've hung onto a few fun things, I've cut back on others. 3/

Streaming services? Enjoy a few, but don't need any. Didn't have them in the 80s. Didn't have a VCR, either. I had a library with books, a notebook from the Bargain Center, and a few pencils. A radio. A tv that got 3 channels. I was fine just watching whatever was on and writing stories. 2/

My family was broke when I was a kid. As long as I can afford basic needs, there's a lot I can go without. Eggs? Don't need them. Like them, but don't need them. Buying new stuff without thinking about it much? Like being able to do it, but don't need to. 1/

Planning to write more. Gifts will be needed items, like snow tires for my mom next winter, or grocery store gift cards, or helping to pay down my niece's student loans for her birthday and Christmas. I don't really travel, but if I do, it's just going to be to NYC for a show and/or thrifting.

Been avoiding most social media lately. Made some large appliance/electronic purchases, so that's done before tariffs. Setting more extreme spending rules for 2025. Planning for supplementing my mom's social security, if it comes to that. Reading more. Exercising more. Planning a bigger garden.
