Yeah, see, I didn’t need a phone at her age. My landline existence was sufficient because the world wasn’t as awful as it is now. At her age I’ve already had to hide under racks of clothing at Target with her & run in a stampede of scared people at Pride with her due to gun violence. She’s only 11.

In California, junior & high schools will take phones at the beginning of each class. I’d really feel a lot better if my kid had hers in her backpack so she could access it quickly if something happened.
