Of course, importation bans have their own drawbacks; we’ve seen this with Russian importation bans and the availability of certain ammunition and firearms. Hut of course if Americans could get over not having some cheaply made shit, there would be a push to actually move manufacturing to the states

Banning imports, on the other hand, would cease all imports, duh, of products by designated banned export origin. Take China for example. Restricting the US market from their economy would be detrimental, and while harming them, would be an even bigger push to increase American jobs.
