Saint Paul City Council introduced Ordinance 26-7 to require officers to be identifiable during law enforcement operations, with limited safety exceptions.

Masked enforcement—especially in immigration actions—harms trust and public safety. Transparency matters.

Jan 21, 2026: Saint Paul City Council urged Gov. Walz to issue an eviction moratorium. Heightened federal immigration enforcement is harming families, threatening housing, livelihoods, and local businesses. A moratorium would help families stay housed, maintain stability, and support the community.
