They not bad but a bit predictable how they lean on fantasy tropes.
Junot Diaz excels at his craft here. Although, This Is How You Lose Her is still my favorite book from him by a mile; I can tell he was in his bag making this book. It feels like he wrote Drown and TIHYLH with TBWLOW in mind. I also love how a little life lived can give new eyes on old stories.
