Had to say goodbye to Ava (aka "BabyKat") on Tuesday. Got her when she was just a stray, wormy kitten. She spent a lot of time sleeping on my keyboard and giving me her "why aren't you writing" look. Sweet, shy girl, but loved by the whole family.

Dang.

This is not Humblebrag (maybe the tiniest bit snuck in when my ego distracted me), but I don't know if readers understand how energizing these kinds of comments are for a writer, especially an indie writer who's never invited to All the Best Parties(tm).
