1. It’s stupid expensive to get checked out at the doctor’s. I don’t have the kind of money it costs to (even insured) get an X-ray. Or pay for the price inflated medical devices or standard consumables like bandages. They get marked up HARD.

This whole system (of insurance, police reports, medical billing, etc) feeds into the destruction of our communities. It encourages people to be combative, adversarial even.

This is going to be used as a pretext for escalating violence against dissent. This I think is the moment we are going to see the radical right come down on the rest of us like a hammer, and we need to be prepared.

We act as though we have no power because we are afraid to use it, afraid that on the other side lies hardship. The secret is: it’s all hardship. The only comfort in this world is the comfort we create for one another, small-scale, with hope and justice and community in mind.
