many jokes are had abt jayce giopara & theyre funny but its truly compelling that hes like a guy who hates himself but will still put his body on the line to prevent others from being treated as expendable. LoR jayce has a subplot ensuring his forgeworker gets credited by name for his creations!!

At one point, he goes looking through Mond’s legal appendices for some law that says “commoners” can’t marry “nobles” and runs into Eula, who has heard from her family how terrible it is that Mond no longer has such a law and wants to know the exact history of when it was abolished.

“It would probably be better for our positions in the knights if we’re not. What if someone thinks we’re emotionally compromised?”

“We should wait until you’re 18.” And when Diluc does turn 18, he is ready with “Until we’re BOTH 18.”
