I don’t know how to change the pattern, but republicans do all sorts of damage knowing democrats will come in to fix things. So they keep doing terrible things, their electorate never sees the results of their greed, and they keep getting voted in.

The way doge is hacking away at government agencies, I can see how they believe it was perfectly acceptable for Kristi Noem to kill her dog rather than address the problems and correct them. Pathological.

Maybe it will be easier to rebuild and improve the agencies that are being destroyed than it has been to rehabilitate systems that have been broken for years. All we need is a spine.
