Springboarding off this, I don't get the appeal of Mörk Börg. The aesthetic is cool, but I have a hard time getting players to read rules even when I've summarized them and printed reference cards. What happens when they literally can't read the rules?

In the middle of the night I bolted upright with the cursed knowledge that I forgot about The Secret Saturdays, a kind of Wild Thornburies meets Johnny Quest action series about a family of cryptozoologists who take a more conservationist approach than the aforementioned G-Men. Less 90s edge too.

Freaky Stories is a little off the mark, but it's got puppets and animation and it's made for kids (available on Tubi for free in Canada).
Roswell Conspiracies or the Men In Black cartoon are more like the X-Files complete with G-Man aesthetic.

I'd always rather have a last-gen game that works than a next-gen game that takes advantage of hardware that doesn't exist yet.

Yeah, absolutely! Fandom takes a lot of shapes, if it's in your heart who can say otherwise?
I've never curled or played hockey, but it's fun to watch and spend time thinking about it.

Jackbox TV is a fun one if you can get more people to join in. You play using your smart phone, so if he has one of those already he'll be already familiar with the controls at least.

Aw beans, that's actually a major disappointment. Guess I'll be promoting Cairn not Maze Rats moving forward. He's kind of fell off recently anyway, but it's still disappointing to hear.
