Well, I watch "A House of Dynamite". In terms of terror, if Threads is a 10, this is a 2.
I think the problem is that we don't see the consequences. It is Chekov's Gun appearing in the first act, and no act three. Writing, directing, acting, all good, but the switching of viewpoints added little.

Cool thing is that it will scale according to Moore's Bukkaw.

The lack of nickel for high-temperature parts for their piston engines I guess would similarly affect their jets. They lasted barely 24 hours, and had to be air cooled.

Anyway, a great book - quite a heavy read.

The book states this, the RR Merlin and DB601/5, not so much the Sabres or more avant-garde DBs.
It does put into perspective the difficulties Whittle and Power Jets had - the jet engine just wasn't a priority. The materials shortages seriously hampered the German piston engines.
