Although this is not a part of my own family's #history, I had ancestors in this area in 1835. I love the idea of my ancestors in rural NY randomly being passed by a 1,400 lbs wheel of #cheese. 🤣🧀

I'm a big #IsabelleHuppert fan, whose great-grandmother was one of 4 sisters that founded French fashion house Callot Soeurs. Her 2024 Met Gala gown (Balenciaga) was a reinterpretation of a Callot Soeurs' couture wedding gown that was on display at The Met. I dig #FamilyHistory tributes like this.

Finally getting around to listening to Sarah Smarsh's new book! Still deeply upset with the election results, and I'm trying to channel this energy into something better. Rolling up my sleeves.

I'm afraid that my people don't seem to have very much luck when it comes to trains. #genealogy #trainaccidents

1855 NY Census lists 4x great-grandfather's occupation as "loafer". Hoping it was just an unfamiliar job title, but no. Add this to a steady stream of newspaper clippings of his drunkenness and his time at Auburn Prison for burglary. At least the bad eggs leave a solid paper trail, eh? #genealogy
