here are my instructions for using low-dose transdermal nicotine to treat long covid. strongly recommend if youve been struggling with fatigue, concentration/memory problems, post-exertional malaise, etc. (extra info in alt text) #longcovid
screenshots of a long discord message that reads: here is the procedure i’ve been following: 1) fold the 7mg patch in half and cut carefully along the folded line for even dosing (3.5mg). 2) pick a spot to apply the patch. it’s safe to put them anywhere below your neck, EXCEPT directly over your heart. i recommend starting with putting them on the lower body, like thigh area, then moving up to chest/arms after a couple weeks. this is because you may feel too much stimulant effects if it’s too close to your brain/heart right away. you should rotate the spots you put it on to avoid irritating your skin, i recommend alternating between L/R sides of the body each day. 3) wipe off the spot you’re going to put the patch with an alcohol prep pad and wait about 60 seconds for it to evaporate before applying the patch. alternatively, you could clean the skin with soap and water - just be sure to apply it to clean, dry skin to avoid irritation. 4) press firmly on the patch for 10 seconds to ensure the adhesive bonds securely. 5) replace the patch this way every 24 hours, ideally in the morning. if you find you have trouble sleeping, just remove it at night. i had to do this for the first few days. continue the treatment for 1-4 weeks. i did it for a month, but now i’ve seen some papers that describe huge improvements for patients after only one week - so do your own research and decide for yourself what you want to do. be sure to use a brand of nicotine patch that doesn’t have a reservoir, because those can’t be cut. the right kind of patch should look like a translucent sticker, not a large band-aid. good luck!! additional info including a scientific explanation can be found on the Youtube channel called “TheNicotineTest”

im so proud of this patch i designed & made by hand :)
an embroidered black cloth patch sewn onto a white jacket. the patch contains a music staff with a treble clef, four quarter notes in four different vibrant colors, and a repeat symbol. the notes are A, C, A, B, and each note is labeled underneath to spell out ACAB. the notes are dark pink, yellow, green, and light pink, and it is sewn onto the jacket with bright orange thread. the embroidery is neat but clearly handmade, and the edges of the fabric are exposed and frayed.
