There will be no next election. Trump will either declare martial law and say we cant have an election because its too dangerous, or he will declare widespread cheating and not honor the results because they are fake. And that will be the end of it.

In most countries the identity of such assassins is kept secret. In the USA the names are broadcast for years creating fame and notoriety. And this in turn gives the next person with a mental health disorder someone to identify with and on and on it goes.
