As a person working with houseless folks I can attest to the fact that all my clients have chronic conditions both mental and physical. I have had elders with cancer, dementia, diabetes, and open seeping wounds released to the street. We are broken, but fixable. People want real hope.

There are aspects of populism that are good, but we need to have a sense of restraint. Many things sound good in theory, only to flounder in implementation. When the flounder occurs the populist energy evaporates. Humans are horrible on the reality of it all, but we gotta try!!!
