Wagner Welt & Wahnsinn
I would never start; because there’s no end 🤡 but you should totally do it!

Are your Bayreuth plans for next year developing? We got tickets for the second Ring Cycle. Don’t be surprised if some young queer Germans start fanboying around you 😄

Either way: Hope you will feel better by then!

It is really sad (& therefor nice to listen to) how he tries and fails. And the dove who picks up the chain to get him back to work? Chefs kiss

Enjoy and toi toi toi! Will be listening live on air 🦢✨🌈

It looks just great!

Is this Wagner website relay from 1996?! That’s like truly ancient internet history 👀 thanks for that gem!

Not sure with US availability, but www.br-klassik.de/themen/bayre... lets you stream for 7 days after. And a little bird told me it’s not too difficult to download 🐦

It would look like the Area 51 run but with Walküre Soundtrack

And of course, Cosima had a hand in it.

Tristan tells of a journey into death, softened by the knowledge that a loving soul walks beside you — a love that soothes the sorrows of life.

Tomorrow it’s going to be Erlösung with Sinopoli in Bayreuth (Blu-Ray, Headphones, Blanket) for me 🕊️ Have a joyful Easter!

Wagner seems to me like a mirror that reveals more about the observer than about what is observed.

Alex Ross analyzed: the Nazis (Hitler) saw these works as hero stories. Art became ornamentation for propaganda and advertisement for the master race.

humanism in Wagner’s work—social questions, open plea for compassion—was neither useful to them nor acknowledged.

Thanks for the entire series! So many well-developed perspectives—your personal view on the Wälsungen made me think. Your take on self-recognition in Lovers, the processing of shame, and emancipation stood out to me. At least, those are the ones that come to mind right now. A rereading is in order!

Well no it isn’t. To give fascist fucks power over culture & cultural reading seems like a fascist win for me.

I’m knowledgeable enough to make a statement like this. I’ve read the Kunstschriften and heard the art - like Zizek, Adorno, Reich-Ranicki, Joyce, Hawking too.

And subpar knowledge. Wagner was no fascist; he was a political chameleon (more left than right & antisemite) but died ~40 years before the rise of fascism.

Hugo boss was not the designer of the uniforms. Boss manufactured uniforms, but the ugly designs are from Heck/
Diebitsch (sorry, not sorry).

The 1989 Tannhäuser from Bayreuth on DVD is also highly recommended!

Recht so

January 21, 2025 at 1:42 PM
January 21, 2025 at 1:32 PM
January 21, 2025 at 1:29 PM
January 21, 2025 at 1:13 PM
Tagesaktuell Herheims Ring Berlin.
