Also a big part of it is that you play video games so long and so consistently you start to recognize similarities and easily adapt to things like control schemes and button placements, older people or people who didn’t grow up with the medium are less likely to develop that muscle memory

Videogames are in a unique position for media because pretty much all forms of entertainment media outside video games is 100 or more years old so many generations have had time to grow up with or become acclimated to them

I think gaming is a lot like certain foods, if it’s something you grow up consuming it’s a lot easier to appreciate than something you’ve maybe done once or twice but never had it click with you
