We got our first EV in 2013 and I still never get tired of plugging in to fill up at home.

It doesn’t seem like just not having to go to the gas station would be that big of a deal. I mean, we’ve all been going to the gas station for potentially decades, but once you don’t have to anymore…

This post really rang true for me, and it really jibes with how I felt personally when I thought about re-entering the workforce a decade ago.

It’s an interesting way to think about what so many people are dealing with. When I had my food business may of my employees were retirees.

No one ever nominated me for a 40 Under 40 list, or a 50 Under 50. Still time for 60 Under 60. The good news is that my odds are getting better.

We Christians, whether regular churchgoers or by birth and tradition, need to actively guard against and fight the idolatry that’s being promoted as Christianity by many political factions today.

Watching TV tonight I’m thinking of one thing that’s changed since I was a kid: we played TV shows at school. We argued who would, “be,” each character. Nowadays, not a thing.

A decade on, the statement still holds.

This is Layla wearing the infamous, “cone of shame.” It’s not stylish, and she doesn’t love it—but it’s there to protect her from herself.

Moving house means you find things.

It also means you lose things, but you can’t take fun trips down memory lane with lost things.

When I went to business school, I’d bike all around Chapel Hill. A student group was handing out AIDS ribbons to raise awareness. This was in the mid 1990s, actually the peak of deaths during the epidemic. I placed one on my backpack. 6/11

I’m not old enough to have seen the Stonewall uprising, but when we stay in NYC, I often try to walk past just to recognize the history. I’d bet most folks nowadays, even those supportive of gay rights, don’t know how bad things were in very recent history. 4/11

Memorial Day is a time to remember those who gave their lives in service to this country.

My dad & several uncles were lucky to have come home from the war, and thankfully most did, but of these guys my dad served with, only the guy on the far left made it home.

There’s some real truth to this. When I was a banker I attended conferences held by major Wall St banks talking about what we were going to have to do to invest government surplus funds.

I was 100% called out (inadvertently) on my age today. The cashier at Trader Joe’s asked me, “is your shirt supposed to represent something?” 🤦‍♂️ I did not ask her whether or not she wanted me. 🤣
