If the EU doesn’t respond, U.S. consumers and businesses pay more, which could backfire politically in the U.S. It can be smart for the EU to just wait and let the economic and political costs accumulate on the U.S. side — if they can afford to play the long game.

Additionally - I lived overseas a lot when I was younger - and always thought of the BBC as a beacon of truth. Naively. I’ll never watch them again. Not that it changes anything.

100%! The genocide was enabled by Biden with support from his administration. There are no functioning hospitals left. There is little water. Limited aid. If bombs stop falling it only serves to lessen the unbearable suffering.

This is good. But if Biden takes credit - he also holds responsibility for the unbearable suffering - in large part enabled by US weapons.

Great point! I also noticed this. Hours after the tragedy - top posts at Bluesky were all in sympathy. At X - top posts were of the video of the car crashing through the crowd… :(
