It really is a matter of discretion. And that is decided by the values of the people involved, and it reflects morality and governance. So a book written by a serial killer describing real acts may not pass but that doesn't mean the idea of banning shouldn't be taken very seriously.

Forgive isn't the right term, but you either have to figure out a way forward for everyone or break the country up. Getting mad and even, will not fix anything. They will be as upset as you are now.
