different things. she wanted to run for Senate/Governor earlier in the year and he told her not to and said he wouldn't endorse. I think she felt betrayed by that and it disillusioned her to Trump (as did the Epstein stuff).

yup. Majority of new Trump 1.0 voters voted were socially conservative former Dems, who voted for Trump due to identity reasons, they would stick with him through tough times. Trump 2.0 voters are much more transactional, they'll file for divorce the minute things get tough.

we were hit by a triple whammy:
* social media, which was a new thing and we didn't really know how to cope with yet
* Dems getting out over their skies ideologically, especially on cultural issues
* 2 (arguably 3) weak Dem nominees
but all 3 are fixable going forward.

this might be Trump's worst poll. Not just the -9 shift but the fact that it was in the field entirely post shutdown (so no bounce back) and how brutal the economic numbers are, including with Republicans. We may be reaching the terminal stage of the Trump presidency.
