2/2... keep it moistured, let it rest some time (over winter?)...and then you can plant. it workes qutie well in our climate (and of course: composte soil without chemicals ...

have you ever tried permaculture technics for poor soil you want to reuses/ create a humus rich soil from? i've used these methods and it worked quite well... you could just ad a lot of branches, leaves, cutted grass /hey and so on, compstable plant waste... on top cover it with composte earth -1/2

i hope they are doing well and putting their green straight up. if you are in a windy area, it might help them if you plant them a little deeper next time.
