A couple of new art pieces I've done over the last couple of weeks. I dyed the paper with alcohol ink, then added the drawings. I really love how they turned out. Joyful art is a form of resistance.

I was not able to go to the event in town today after all, but I am hopeful ... very cautiously ... that the reminder of the tyranny that was fought 250 years ago brings the recognition that it is once more at our door.

Sign for tomorrow. I didn't mention anyone currently in office. If someone says it's an anti-T***p sign, they're telling on themselves. 😂

A Message

He is evil,
Willing to destroy it all.
This maniac,
You know the man and
The sorts of things he says.
"Make me a king!" he called out,
"What do I have to do with peace?
Fall in behind me."
How can there be peace
As long as the idolatry
Of this man persists?

If you've not read this, you need to. I'm thinking of making videos reading one chapter a day, without commentary. Just reading the chapter and posting it on YouTube. Everyone who is concerned about the direction the US is headed needs to read/hear this book.

Some recent art, just for fun.

I posted a review for Gulf of America. We'll see how long it stays. 😆

There are a lot of Gulf of America places one could review, so if this is the wrong one ... maybe they shouldn't have used the name, because I imagine their rating is getting slaughtered today. 😆

I don't know why I keep wanting to do this to Marilyn, but I'm enjoying it, whatever the reason! I don't think she'd mind. 😄

I thought about finishing the edges, but I decided I like it just as it is.

I'm calling it "She's Something Else."

This piece is available for $45+shipping, frame included.

I was feeling bored, creatively, so i decided to get out these gorgeous stickers I have had forever and put them to use.

I also wanted to see how Marilyn would look as ... whatever I made her into. She is still gorgeous!

#4 in "Surviving His Second Act" is my journal.

The sticker on the front says

And in the end,
We were all just
Humans,
Drunk on the idea
That love,
Only love,
Could heal
our brokenness.

Another in my "Surviving His Second Act" series.

Books have always been among my most constant companions. That remains true to this day, and especially now. Diving into a book helps me forget everything for awhile.

Pictured below is a drawing of part of my TBR pile.

Second in my series "Surviving His Second Act."

I am learning to play guitar. Do I play well? No. Do I play in front of other people? No. Does it help manage stress and lift my mood? Yes. And that's all that matters.

First in the series I'm calling Surviving His Second Act, a few of the must-have tools I use for drawing. A coffee mug, readers, a white eraser, a kneaded eraser, and a charcoal pencil.

Righteous Acts?

You have turned from
The way that is good and right.
Now you have a king
Who has become obnoxious
And foolish.
He has made trouble for the country.
You have broken faith
So he.could assume rule.

This was so much fun! I don't know why I'm so enthralled with butterflies, faces, and flowers, but here we are!

I finished this last night and sold it this morning. 😄

Good morning!
January 8, 2025 at 1:43 PM
Pretty much. 😂

Staying up til midnight seems so unnecessary when the option to get in bed and read until I'm sleepy is available. 😆

Here are some of the commissions I did over the last few weeks. The drawing of the woman eating a banana is 24x36 inches, the largest drawing I've done so far! I love how she turned out. 😄
