Check out the luster on this Alpaca/Silk blend from Paradise Fibers! It is so soft and drapey too. The high silk content gives it almost a metallic sheen. Not the easiest to spin but so gorgeous! #handspinning #handspun #yarn 🧶

I’ve been working on spinning this Gotland as well. It’s a tricky fiber, much more slippery that the other samples I’ve done. The luster makes it worth it. #handspinning #handspun #wool #yarn 🧶

Some chain plied merino. So far Merino is my least favorite breed to spin. Chain plying gives a really nice result though. #handspun #handspinning #wool #yarn 🧶

I’ve learned recently that my spindle prefers to spin longer staple fibers. I really struggled with some merino recently but this bit of Devon is coming out beautifully. The larger micron count might also be helping. #handspun #handspinning #wool #yarn 🧶

I decided to use my first spin as a chance to try chain plying. It’s an interesting technique, it took me a minute to get the movement down. It produced a cool textured yarn. #handspun #handspinning #knitsky
