Like BG3 was a really good game for how in depth it was, but stacking it up against my subjective favorite games... its not a goty to me.

Those are very good points! I tend to focus less on those and more so on how the game feels to play just from it as a finished product point of view.

As I reply I notice there is just a lot to discuss. I think it is very subjective as all art and games are but I just wanted to give my view on it. I hope I dont come across as annoying. If you want to chat more about it im down.

I think in this case they didnt innovate to a great extent but they built something that excels at the medium. You dont always have to break the mold in making something new. Sometimes perfecting or mastering a certain genre is enough. Its better than the free to play slop we have been getting.

What I gather from this statement is a very blanket look at the dynamics between the characters and the choices you can make. You can romance but ultimately you dont have to. In some plays or interpretations its less romance and more so emotional connection.

For this specific argument I would say that killing black rep does suck. But the story was never about that character. You dont need a token rep just to say you have them. Sometimes its better to just not include them at all if it isnt fitting the narrative. Ultimately the story is about a family.
