Yes, it's the kind of story that was probably in a school reader and so we have a big French/English cultural difference. Good to be reminded that those Anglo-American childhood references won't mean anything to ppl raised in non-anglo schools

And yes, it also illustrates insulting comic-Irish stereotypes

The text attached to the previous post is an example of just two sentences from Mackintosh's report. He makes an excellent point in this two-sentence paragraph, but I can think of a four or five sentence version that would be much easier to read.
