If Kiffin doesn’t care enough about his players and their success to stay for the playoffs why should the committee? There needs to be a standard set by the committee to avoid this in the future. If the coach leaves before the playoffs, you’re automatically out.

The committee needs to set a precedence for the playoffs and all all coaches using Lane as an example. If you leave before the playoffs, you’re out. Yes, it’s unfair to the players, but it’s also unfair to the fans and other teams if they don’t punish them. It’s far from the same team without a HC.
