Additionally, an EF2 was recently confirmed in Labrador from 2018, which happened to be that county’s first ever recorded tornado!

Five counties recorded their first ever tornado in 2024:
Albert, NB: EF1 on Nov 1
Sunbury, NB: EF1 on Nov 1
Sunshine Coast, BC: EF0 on Nov 4
North Okanagan, BC: EF0 on Aug 27
Longueuil, QC: EF0 and EF1 on Jul 24

Interesting observation: The Kenora region in NW ON leads Canada with 114 tornadoes, with the vast majority recorded since 2000 due to the rise of satellite analysis. Population centers such as Calgary, Edmonton, and Regina all appear as hotspots, likely as a result of more reports from higher pop.
