I don't believe that was the point the person who posted it was making, but you're not wrong. Most centrists I've met align more with "fuck you, I got mine" types on the right.

Except it's a false equivalence. A person, by virtue of being gay, is part of the LGTB+, and unsurprisingly, if you refuse to support someone who is part of a particular community, of course they will try to find solace in their own community.

I get the impulse, but don't take the bait. These people are never gonna change their minds, and insulting them just makes them dig their heels in harder, and gives them a platform, not to mention fueling the victim complex. Block them, starve them out, and move on.

No one is saying that the people who donated the time aren't generous and shouldnt be thanked, we're criticizing the media trying to normalize these stories and turn them into fluff pieces when people should be outraged that this happened at all. Also the government for fostering these circumstances

Yeah, leaning that way myself. It's their only post, it's fairly formal with proper grammar and punctuation, and strikes that oddly neutral-but-still-agreeing tone that all these AI posts have. I'm gonna give it a day, see if they respond, then block the account.

Even making fun of them just feeds into the victim complex, and makes it easier for them to fall into the fallacy of "well these people I don't like are making fun of me, so I MUST be right". It sucks, and we all fuck up sometimes, but blocking and starving is the best long-term solution right now.
