I've been thinking about this and I think there is a real difference, but it's hard to put into words. There's a definite vibe difference that I think makes a big difference in how I feel about the games. The older beth games feel like a genuine if flawed effort to make a living world.

I'd be very surprised if the average player is seeing credits in Wilds in 10 hours. And even if they do that's essentially just the extended tutorial in a monster hunter game. There's so much more game after that. But who knows maybe I'm wrong.

The speedrun for base game world is like 5 hours. Half that if you use the iceborne boost gear. I'm pretty sure any half decent player could do it in 10-15 if they just straight up mainline it.

You should go for the real old Monster Hunter and grab Monster Hunter Dos with the english patch and private servers. Live that right stick to attack lifestyle.
