I’ve just come back from Portugal. I used the e-gates on arrival, and was through and stamped in 10 minutes. Very different experience on the way back though. Not allowed to use the e-gates to return so had to join the rest of the world queue. Took well over an hour to get through passport control.

Angus beef, Hebridean langoustines, Loch Fyne oysters, Welsh lamb, Devon clotted cream etc. And then there’s the game: venison, pheasant, wood pigeon etc. People only list the dishes that have names they’ve heard of, but unlike the French or the Italians, most of our dishes do not have names.

Again, all you’re displaying here is your ignorance. Spices have been used in Britain for centuries, but I note you don’t say the same about French food not using many spices, or Spanish food, or German food etc. The reasons for this are well documented, but that would involve educating yourself.

That’s a rather misleading headline. Abortion was already legal in Britain, up until 24 weeks. Yesterday’s vote was about what happens beyond 24 weeks, but this will only apply to England and Wales currently, as there is no such thing as UK law.

Here’s an idea. Why not get as many of you together as possible and collectively agree to stop reporting anything Trump says until he backs down. Yes, the rightwing media will continue to brown-nose him, but the rest of you can retain your dignity while he goes apeshit over his lack of coverage.

Using the Ukrainian pronunciation/spelling of Kyiv/Kiev instead of the English pronunciation/spelling is the very definition of virtue signalling. We don’t pronounce/spell capitals in the local language for any other country. If people want to virtue signal that’s up to them, but call it what it is.
