The Relation-Centred Education Network Conference is going to be at the Gold Coast next year (15–17 June 2026). This is a really great, dare I say 'relational' conference! Call for papers now open =)

Who wants to take over running The Australian Educational Researcher from me at the end of the year? It's a great journal, with a wonderful team, which publishes high-quality education research.

Love ending the week with a new paper! This one is a collaboration with Charlie Thomson and Andrew Hickey on hip-hop pedagogy and affinity groups, drawn from Charlie's really interesting doctoral study.

Very sad to hear about John Marsden.

Inviting him to be a keynote at the 2015 English Teachers Association of Queensland conference was a real privilege.

He wrote many good words and helped to show us that schools really could be different. RIP.

We have a new paper out from our Youth Community Futures project, which is very exciting! This one is about the 'spatial' young person in regional Queensland.

With the @australianare.bsky.social conference just over a week away, I thought I'd start planning my schedule and immediately realised there are so many things I want to get to that are programmed at the same time!
