You’ll get through the first story, I’m sure. Walker Brothers Cowboy is great. I love the grand geological scale of its opening that soon settles and dwells on a moment in life.

It does have a monotony to it, but given the nature of the street, it feels part of the point. But it felt thematically tight, right down to the teacher role, mimicking the wind, and burying the dead birds at the start. A sort of existential horror of what we live - or accept as life - day to day.

I’d be a terrible live updater. Been such a busy week I’ve only managed the first two chapters. Safe to say the first was great, the prose really capturing the character’s mindset and creating a mystery. Second more a character exploration and a chance to fire up the plot’s movement.

Good to know: I’ve seen this a few times but hadn’t seen anything (positive or negative) about it. Tentacles sort of pushing me to the ‘buy zone’.
