I remember when Generation X were the young people - I still have my graduation photo with us in 90s grunge. Can’t believe how things are so much better and so much worse than the 90s now…
We also responded to the US trying to annex Canada by sacking Washington and setting fire to the White House

In of itself, this administrative breach is one of the less worse things that he’s done, but it’s all adding to the picture that he places personal enrichment above absolutely everything else

Whatever happened to him here, you can bet it would not have been a good experience

A US colleague of my dad’s once flew in for a meeting, and was surprised when US airport security pulled him out of the boarding queue because they’d found a handgun in his baggage. He didn’t see the problem - it was in the hold and he had a permit. They patiently explained it didn’t apply in the UK

“What if I raise the price of everything with tariffs and they won’t sell me Greenland and I’m left threatening to invade our allies like we’re communist USSR?”

I don’t know… the more Trump interviews that get shown, the more damage it does him. He’s just too stupid to realise

I’ve seen other people refer to the “line in the snow” which is probably more appropriate 😂

Even the Trump boot-lickers of the European far right are finding it hard to back him so 🤞 we’ll draw a line in the sand on this

Yeah, there are plenty plenty of MAGA Second Amendment nuts who would say that’s true though (while waving around their AR15s and watching their cars carefully through their windows…)

It’s a big comfort to us in the rest of the world that it seems so unpopular with Americans too. What’s happening is terrifying but we’re rooting for you

I’ve met and worked with so many good, decent Americans, who I know think like you do. I hope you prevail

Corbyn was alarmed that early Putin might move Russia closer to the West. He didn’t and instead ramped up the repression and strangled the last vestiges of Russian democracy. Corbyn, relieved, lapsed into silence

Sudetenland is a great analogy for the Russian invasion of Ukraine (Russian speakers in Ukraine being the new Sudeten Germans, used to give an excuse to attack) but not sure it works here. There’s no pretence of rescuing anyone in Greenland: it’s little more than “we need it so give it to us”
