He didn't read the very first sentence either.

Also, it's kinda dated now, but calling someone a turkey is an insult, albeit a mild one. The sort of thing you might say to a friend who just did something dumb.

The Turkish (and Czech) governments requested changes to the names by which they're known internationally. Germany could do the same, but they haven't. They accept "Germany"/"Federal Republic of Germany" as English equivalents of "Deutschland"/"Bundesrepublik Deutschland".

They didn't change their official name, just requested that the Turkish name be used instead of the Anglicized version.

There's a basic politeness argument here. If your friend Joe said his name is actually José and he'd rather be called that, would you say "No, I'm calling you the English version of José already!"

We continue to call Japan and Italy by those names because they haven't asked us not to.

"We gotta be asking more critical questions [...] and I don't think we were doing that until this [MAHA] movement came along."

Yeah, before MAHA we were all snorting bleach and injecting chloroquine. Oh wait...that was your guy.

Their salaries are dwarfed by the funds they need to raise to keep those salaries. That's the big money that needs to be removed from the equation.

Maggie Hassan, in a small (but competitive) state, raised and spent $41 million to get reelected in 2022.

"Physical Description: Gangly. Runs like a rotary telephone thrown into a running clothes dryer. Throws like an effete Frenchman throwing a bookcase uphill. Swings a bat like his elbows are stapled to his knees and his underwear is pulled over his head. Stares at you when you aren't looking."

Everyone’s agog with the old scouting reports that the Hall of Fame released. Here are five more that were previously unseen.
