I was so, so frickin’ angry when Ep 9 came out. Johnson set up so much cool stuff that was ignored or thrown away. Finn had finally dedicated himself, then was ignored. People make themselves, not their lineage. Kylo Ren as the Emperor. The stuff we’ve seen in Johnson’s plot online… so much better.

Sorry, you hit one of my pet peeves. As fans, we’ve grown to expect that everyone has an amazing backstory, but sometimes what we see is what we get. Snoke is the new Emperor. Asshat Benicio guy was just an asshat. A cigar can just be a cigar.

Tried to watch it a few weeks ago at my son’s request, made it about 15 minutes in. I don’t have a problem with camp, just that movie. But I’m a firm believer in like what you like, so I’ll just accept it ain’t for me.

I’ve personally been disappointed by lots of folks, but I ain’t gonna let it make me think everyone out there’s a heel, and I’m a big believer in (eventual) second chances.

I think it’s fair to say someone is a good person until it’s shown otherwise. At some point, you have to give the benefit of the doubt.

It’s not the duty of a director to explain every plot point, it’s just something that as a Star Wars fan we’ve come to expect.
“Who is Snoke?” didn’t need to be explained any more than “Who is the Emperor?” did in the original trilogy. He was a plot point, not a character.

I’m sorry, but no amount of alcohol is enough to make me say “Batman and Robin” is not a bad movie. I’ll agree that it had a definite aim it was striving for, but “watchable” wasn’t what it achieved.
A movie that makes me, ME, dislike Uma Thurman failed somewhere along the way.

This really reads as “They didn’t do it the way I would have, therefore the director is racist.”

Nah, it’s much more likely that arguments about how an actor played the scene don’t really register as complaints.
Here’s a complaint- that was a crummy episode with a historic moment buried in the middle of it.

Went to see this one afternoon, by myself, just felt like a movie and I liked Lyonne from “Slums of Beverly Hills.” Laughed my ass off. Later it became something my wife and I bonded over. “You saw ‘But I’m a Cheerleader’ too?!”

Movies don’t usually do that well. I much prefer something like “Hot Fuzz” where you realize everything was onscreen the whole time and you didn’t realize it.
