I have no idea who any of these are!

My wonderful partner got me this awesome anniversary present!

Alas, "hot chocolate, hot" doesn't scan quite as well...

This was @ignigeno.bsky.social and my contribution to the Concorde conversion collaboration at Bricktastic!

Digging through some old pictures turned up some of models I wasn't readily aware I had! This rendition of Cathedral of Vasily the Blessed (St Basil's Cathedral) in Moscow was a joint effort and fairly pressed for time if memory serves!

Happy Halloween!

Was pretty happy with this fully poseable replica of a Versius surgical robot arm, which was back in the workshop for repairs recently.
Making joints strong enough to support the weight was a real challenge, largely solved by squeezing tyres to generate friction!

Luckily I have some expert help assembling the Lego insects set!

From the arachnid diorama, a Giant Huntsman spider, awkwardly posed on a cave roof.

Some of the smaller butterflies from the diorama, wanted to make some local species.
In order, a Painted Lady, a Red Admiral, a Peacock, and an Orange Tip - all on an equally Lego Buddleia.

In the butterfly diorama I didn't do a Blue Morpho - felt it was a little plain - so this Atlas moth is the nearest I have.
Wings are bricks SNOTed which is a little clunky but the only way to get even this close to the patterning.
The antenna are off, but the closest we had for fluffy moth feelers!

The giant rainforest mantis suffered the most from having to use the parts in front of me.
The skateboard thorax and surfboard wing case worked surprisingly well, but the legs are a bit of a mess.
Either Lego's version is way too big, or mantids get a lot bigger than my searches turned up!

So with Lego doing their own bugs set I thought I'd dig up some of my own done for a diorama a while back.
Still pretty happy with the Hercules Beetle, although the Lego version is amazing with the option to add the wings.
The droid arms on the horn represent a line of hairs, but not terribly well!

What better CP for my very first Sprigatito?

Today marks a decade since we got Nyra. Not sure how old she was, but now she's definitely our old speckled hen.

Dragons for dinner again? Bah.

Purely coincidental colour combination for bracing brick in this model.
Yep.
