City Hall could have worked and the Anton Furst architecture was designed better but Shreck’s building and Gotham Square worked well. I’m actually glad Batman Returns wasn’t Alexander Knox Returns. He must of left Gotham with Vicki, in my head canon

The movie isn’t dark? So you glazed over the rapist? Penguin kidnapping children to kill them? Miss Kyle being pushed out a window to her apparent death and revived by being bitten by ally cats. Another woman falling to her death? Batman using the Batmobile as a blowtorch and bombing another guy?

Using the same one block street set at Pinewood again with just the movie theater, the cathedral, the art museum, Gotham Globe newspaper headquarters and City Hall ‘89 locations wouldn’t have worked for Batman Returns since it takes place in different areas of Gotham.
