The NAM's PBL mixing scheme, MYJ, will always undermix relative to other contemporary PBL schemes during daytime unstable PBLs. MYJ does not have the capacity to represent boundary-layer-deep non-local mixing like the MYNN (HRRR's PBL) and the FV3 scheme (derivative of the GFS PBL).
