Jets also on a short week, after "holding" a crap Browns offense to only 20 points and beating them on the strength of a KR TD and a PR TD.

UFA next spring. They'd better re-sign him!

3 years at ~$3.5M apy ought to do it.

Exactly. Gotta hang on to Marrone.

Plus Doug Marrone and his OL staff getting improvement out of the group every week. Even Bradbury's pass-pro is better.

I think Ward's return was more about suddenly having all 3 active RBs injured on a short week than it was about Rice. I wouldn't be shocked if the swap out was reversed next week.

Rice is only 23. Big kid. Productive at USC. Good combine. Not a lot of upward mobility for WRs on the Chargers' roster

17 RZ TDs allowed:

- 14 pass
- 3 rush
Jeanty, 3 yds (Raiders wk-1)
Gainwell, 1 yd (PIT wk-3)
Taysom Hill, 1 yd (NOL wk-6)

Seems more like lack of sync between QB pressure & coverage than lack of stoutness.

Maybe blitz more?

Sounds like elevations for Johnson (or Ward) and Dippre (or Odukoya).

Love the way he talks about his "analytical skills".

Exceptionally courageous questioner. Instant inclusion on the WH enemies list. Possibly soon to be fired.

2/ General preference may be to fill thru the draft. A couple exceptions might be:

TE - Henry & Hooper both turn 32 in 2026, so Pitts might be a viable candidate.

RT - Morgan Methuselah turns 35, so if Marcus Bryant isn't likely to ever take over ...

1/ A "Top-25", by definition, comprises high-$$ starters. With a couple significant extensions on the near horizon, it doesn't seem wise for the Pats to go hog-wild on FA spending. In most cases the roster seems to need quality depth upgrades more than starters anyway - #4 CB, #3 Safety, #3 RB, e.g.

DT Leonard Taylor is one of a decent looking class of youngsters that the Pats have quietly assembled this season to compete with 2026 draftees and UDFA signings for roster spots next summer.
