One Battle After Another was unwatchable for me. I gave up after an hour of watching a movie full of unlikeable people.

George Washington, for all of his accomplishments, had nothing to do with national parks. The current Oval Office occupant would sell off the national parks if he could. The appropriation of national parks for the appeasement of one man is the only the latest sign of how far the nation has fallen.

I see no evidence that there was any U.S. plan for after seizing Maduro. Trump said the U.S. would run Venezuela. Now Rubio talks about using coercion to influence Venezuela’s government. They are making it up as they go along. Or maybe Gramps is having trouble understanding what is going on.

I don’t see a plan or even a concept of a plan for what happens now. Trump railed against the Iraq adventure. At least Bush went to Congress and the U.N. first. Taking out Saddam was the easy part. Unlike what Rumsfeld said, we were not welcomed as liberators. Trump is incapable of learning anything

This is not even regime change. This is a decapitation. What is the plan now? Who runs Venezuela? Who decides? How does the U.S. expect to impose its will on Venezuela? Will we be stationing tens of thousands of troops while propping up a government for 20 years like Afghanistan?

Who is buying? There is a lot of money sloshing around in the economy. Unfortunately, it seems to be predominantly by and for the top 1%, or perhaps top 0.5%. The rest of us are barely treading water.

Many of us complained about an elderly President cocooned in a bubble with apparent mental lapses in an attempt to get a more engaged replacement. Instead, we got similar issues with Trump, who was never competent for the office, and a sociopath to boot.

Officials are either intentionally lying about how vaccines work or the dumbest people are now in charge of public health. Vaccines are not designed to prevent disease. They work by increasing anti-bodies. There are no guarantees in medicine. What we can do is improve our odds of surviving.

Trump closely monitors donations and donors to him. Corporations donate to Trump in a calculation that it is cheaper than going to court. Trump’s sole focus is on raking in money for himself and his pet projects to the detriment of the public interest that is his job to protect.

Stopping penny production is probably the only good decision Trump has made. In typical Trumpian fashion, he did so with no follow though, no logical questioning of, “and then what?”.

Incompetence is not a requirement in the cabinet of the most incompetent President in U.S. history. Trump probably considers it a positive since it provides momentary distraction from Trump’s latest blunders and authoritarian acts.

Trump keeps saying he has been persecuted by the justice system when in fact he has repeatedly escaped legal scrutiny because of who he is. No one has weaponized the justice system more to persecute personal and political enemies and bail out his allies.
