Thank you so much for this. Really good stuff, and been feeling a lot of it myself. I've been thinking for a while that "tech job in a non-tech company" is the way to go... So just have to find that now!

A minority in Australia feel this way, though it's mostly pushed by trash media and politicians. It is racism of course and Australia is 80-90% urban and always has been. But historically, we loved to think of ourselves as "outback explorers" and the like, even though that was always a minority.

From Sydney, live in the country now, wondered when the Australians would reply to this :) This is a real thing here, but very much a minority, and it's mostly still pushed by trash media and politicians. Most real country people don't think this, or dwell on it.
