It’s always been entertainment and a general distraction with a tribal connection to identity. Wemby, unfortunately, seems to also be a great flopper. Fun stars will emerge, whether they be in the Rasheed Wallace lane or the Barkley lane. Generational means once in a generation

Overall the NBA ratings are higher, but not YoY. NBA is down about 25% from last season. Fair point on the NFL, but there are still brutal legal hits. Honestly, the target audience is probably significantly different between NFL and NBA. And the NFL has enjoyed the Taylor Swift effect

I don’t think the number of games is the issue. NHL plays the same and they’re doing great YoY for viewership. I may be old, but the NBA has turned into a no defense league that’s basically a 3 point contest. Plus there’s carries and travels every possession that aren’t called now.

Ok, that’s fair. But Baker was playing injured since week 2 of the 2021 season, started 14 games and 3000+ pass yards. Stefanski said he deferred to team doctors/Baker on his injury. Keenum was the backup and they were in the playoff hunt. I wish they shut him down but it would’ve ended the season.

Surprisingly, Baker was under contract to start 2022 for the Browns - after playing most of 2021 injured. The Browns traded for Watson in the 2022 offseason and then Baker requested a trade. lol this makes the trade worse. Only tried others because Watson was SSPD. It’s rough being a Browns fan lol

I think that anger should be shifted to the owners - the Haslams. I doubt Stefanski had much say in significant personnel decisions over the past few years. The owners made the trade, ran off Mayfield and told Kevin who to start. He was forced to overhaul the playbook for Watson this offseason too.

He was coming off not playing for an entire year too. Granted, he lead the league with 4,800+ passing yards in 2020, but the Texans were 4-12. Which is… something? I’ve accepted it as something I’ll never understand. It is absolutely the worst trade and contract in NFL history.

No offense intended, but there are scumbags in every NFL fan base. Some Browns fans disgustingly flaunted the massage theme. Which was extra weird after claiming moral high ground over Roethlisberger while the Steelers dominated. We’ll see the sentence carried out, just please don’t Art Modell us.
December 3, 2024 at 5:54 AM
Not only that, but the Browns gave up 3 first round, a third round and 2 fourth round picks for Watson. Jets gave a first, 2 second round, and a sixth round pick for Rodgers. Rodgers getting $75m guaranteed versus Watson’s $230m guaranteed. Dead cap for Rodgers was $66m; Watson was $200m

That’s not a punitive sentence for Browns fans. Sadly, that’s just an average 10 years of existing for us the past 50+ years. To be fair, fans didn’t vote on the trade/contract - that’s on the owners (can we trade them? Please?). Most fans didn’t want Mayfield run out of town after playing hurt.

It’s clear Taylor knows it’s part of her game plan; throw a punch - dive in head first. Occasionally, sure clashes happen. But it’s a pattern of behavior here. Credit to Serrano for her sportsmanship. Would have been nice to have good judging as Netflix tries to breathe life back into the sport.

You nailed this prediction - even with the high bar set by Barrios/Ramos!

Serrano landed over 100 more punches, weathered a bunch of head butts, and still got robbed. Unbelievable.
