So, I took this selfie for #MathCoffeeSelfie because I was heading back from the CMS meeting in Toronto on Sunday, got on my plane, waited a coupla hours, then had my flight canceled. Life is good, but in the scramble to get back home, I forgot to post this on time😬

I misread this as "security work," and I imagined that meant writing Prelim/Qual exams...

So rad!!

Best of luck with both! Both hit home for me. I just heard that I won't be playing music at the film festival I usually perform at, and I recently posted something to arXiv that we proved over a decade ago, so both of these hot close to home for me!!

It's a small roaster in St. Louis, Missouri. They make really good coffee, and they have beautiful design work.

Cute misdirection:-)

Yuss! I took mine extra early today. Looking forward to a lot of grading and shipping out letters of recommendation. Hoping to do a little research between times too:-)

Went bouldering in Arkansas today, so not much math or selfies, but plenty of coffee!

Life is really good. Yesterday I went to KC to the funeral of my childhood best friend's mom. Sad, but great to see old pals. Then I had some great coffee from Messenger and climbed at Sequence with my nephew. Also had a new idea for my addiction (the Erdős unit distance problem).

Pretty neat! Thanks for sharing!!

This is terrifying...

Good times! I'm not quite back in shape yet, but getting there:-)

Getting ready for a bouldering trip this morning! The only math I did today was thinking about an old Erdős problem during the drive.

This happens any time I open an active draft of a mathematics research article. Like, step off bro! Please don't try to summarize something that's not even complete!!

Oooh... nice idea! I want to riff on it with the offering: Implied Colic. They definitely perform in dark silk button-up shirts with brightly colored, overlapping circles. Their bass player uses the controversial new "slap" technique...

"I find Hartshorne to be the most approachable, if a touch verbose..."
(This is a mathematics joke. I sincerely wish you luck because I never fully understood that stuff!)
