Love me some Super Heroes, Movies and anything pop-culture. Somehow stumbled into being a professional Dungeon Master for Dungeons & Dragons.

Just to add to this, Brennan brings up the game having "literal wishes in it" but the Wish spell has extremely specific rules on what it can & cannot do.

In #Deadlands the vampire was using our hero group to kill rival Fear Monger Abominations so she could return to being the most powerful. During this time my card player character fell in love with her. She couldn't bring herself to kill me because she realised she loved me too.

I want to stress that the game system itself wasn't bad. It just wasn't the system for a game trying to tell the story this world was set in. It worked an absolute treat in Deadlands!

Probably Brave New World. The game itself was pretty meh, but my goodness, was the setting not amazing! Superpowers begin to develop across the world in the 1920s, which led to an alternate history setting where the USA government is ruled by an immortal John F Kennedy, but with lots of plot twists.

The Barbarian and Paladin were both vying for the attentions of one of the NPCs, then when they finally got a night of peace inside Mordenkainen's Magnificent Mansion neither of them made a move, but the Rogue did.

I like to describe the quality of the roads as a group enters an area. Muddy with horse tracks, marble that's in disrepair but clean, a transition from a well maintained road to a broken track as they get further away from the castle, etc.

In D&D this is specifically framed as you were unable to pierce their armor with that blow, or they were able to move quickly enough to barely miss them. If not for those factors they would have hit.

Golden Dragons are known for philosophical discussion amongst themselves, so when a PC brought the failed philosophy of one Gold to the attention of another, I ended up doing a jury discussion by myself arguing for & against the points for a good 8 minutes. lol

Hahaha. Did you take Caustic Alchemy just so you could use Defensive Roll?

Mine was Cyberpunk 2020. First game I ran was Star Wars WEG D6. It was many years before I even met someone who owned a D&D book. Before I played it I got to play Deadlands, both Weird & Wasted; Champions, Exalted, Teenagers From Outerspace, Castle Falkenstein, MiB, LotR, Brave New World & others.

This is great advice. I'm actually blown away with how #DrawSteel handles Negotiation. Whenever you want to negotiate with an NPC the Director uses what they know about that NPC to determine their Motivations & conversational Pitfalls. The heroes then balance the NPC's Patience & Interest. So good!
