I think humour, the natural world, travel, books, music, film, and a few good companions make for a tolerable life. Founder of digital heritage studio ThinkSee3D. Progressive politics.
What's new is the increased power of the authorities to enforce their prejudices. The police everywhere are very much more powerful than at any earlier time; the police, while they serve a purpose in suppressing ordinary crime, are apt to be just as active in oppressing extraordinary merit. Russell

This is my 3D model of Isaac Newton's drinking flagon on the Royal Society Publishing feed.
Notes and Records recently published a paper on Newton's Beer Mug: royalsocietypublishing.org/doi/10.1098/... virtually rotate the vessel and zoom in for greater detail: skfb.ly/pzwDn

I've made 100's of more impressive looking museum replicas in the 10 years since I started my 3D digital heritage business, ThinkSee3D, yet I quite like this simple Egyptian pot, finished today. I also made some shabtis. All for Derby Museum. The original pot is 11th-12th Dynasty from Beni Hasan.

This stormy day brings to mind Burns' storm in Tam O'Shanter..

The wind blew as 'twad blawn its last;
The rattling show'rs rose on the blast;
The speedy gleams the darkness swallow'd;
Loud, deep, and lang the thunder bellow'd:
That night, a child might understand,
The Deil had business on his hand.

Some memories of my recent work trip to Nigeria where I 3D scanned at the National Museum & gave a talk on photogrammetry to some of Lagos' creative community at a beautifully conserved 60's architects house, now named Pada. I only wish I could have hung out a little longer with my newfound friends.

In September, my 3D digital heritage work took me to the Falkland Islands, where I saw many wonderful things, including 3 different species of penguins. Below are King Penguins.
