I think "fake it til' you make it" is genuinely a great bit of advice but people (understandably!) think it means "lie until you've duped everyone" when in reality it's much more "act like you belong here because you actually do and you need to get over yourself"

(I Need Help)

A couple days ago, I fled home.

I have been dealing with a very difficult living situation due to my parents being emotionally abusive.

This Sunday was a breaking point for me and I couldn’t take it anymore. On Monday, I discretely packed my bags, computer, and left.
muzzled animal fleeing from an enigmatic terror. I feel bad having to do this again, but I need some help. A couple days ago I fled home. I have been dealing with a very difficult living situation due to my parents being emotionally abusive. This Sunday was a breaking point for me and I couldn’t take it anymore. The next day, I discretely packed my bags and computer, and left. I am currently staying at a friend’s house. They have a spare room and I’ve been allowed to temporarily crash at their place for the time being. I have a roof over my head, and for the first time in a while now, I feel physically and emotionally safe. Despite this, I am not financially stable. And this is where, unfortunately, I still need help. Bills don’t stop just because I’m in a crisis. A loose, flat-color painting of my 'sona, looking mostly the same except for one noticeable change - my eyes are now a golden yellow around the brown they already were. Sort of like the lions in The Lion King. A collection of loose painting “doodles” of different expressions on my fursona's face and new eyes. seven, to be precise. From top to bottom, right to left in three rows: 1. Looking off to the side, with the whites in the corner (I think of the yellow as “further iris” rather than the white bit.) 2. Furrowed brow, irritated looking, with a sneer coming up from the “edge” of the doodle. 3. Shocked and wall-eyed. Pupils are small, one has the brown part as just a ring, and on the other the white is visible. 4. Pleading puppy dog eyes. Very big pupils and very pathetic. 5. Heart eyes and blushy. The pupils are red, and heart-shaped, as is the brown area. 6. Swirly eyes. Dizzy/hypnotized looking, though I think of it more as the former. Subtler blush, front-facing. 7. Different hypnotized eyes - color rings - with a more suggestive expression. Looking up with a woozy smile.
